Also, Whenever I post something on the Front Page Announcements forum, it doesn't appear on the portal (front page)! Can anyone tell me how to do this?

First go to the Administration Panel
Go to the "Display". Look to your left and you will see something that says "Homepage" and under that category you will see "Structure and Hierarchy". Now click it. Now I think you might have selected the "full" option. Whatever option you have now is probably not the one you want yes? So to have the one similar to ours choose. "Medium"
I hope your Sensei has been of help to you. XD

If you wish for a certain board's content to appear on the front page (there can only be 1 at a time), go to the Administration Panel. There, you go to the Module portion of the Panel. Select Portal out of the list provided for you. There are now a few boxes with labels. Find the box labeled "Portals pages list" and look at the list of pages provided for you. If you wish that your (default) portal will have the data of your Front Page Announcements, click on "Structure" in the same row as the said portal (of which you wished to have the forum's Normal contents appear in). Now, you are redirected to multiple boxes. In fact, I'm too lazy right now to count them all. Find the one labeled "Portal." In order to make the board Front Page Announcements public (all Normal topics can only be applied) in the Portal, select News. You've got your single box with preferences of your own liking (Number of news, Length of the news and Board of the news). Now, since Board = Board, you must click on the board's name that appears to the right of "Board of the News" and you will see that there is a list of boards to choose from. Select the one you wish to appear on the Portal (Which is, in your case, Front Page Announcements). Then save your work, just like what your computer lab teacher tells you, and there will be an indication telling you that the modifications of the settings have been saved. Finished, done and still squirting.

If it won't work, think of these possible errors:
- You have no Portal page(s). Create one now by completing steps 1 through 4 (that I have provided in the simplification of my speech-form entry). Then, after that, instead of clicking on "Structure" as the instructions provide, look for the instruction "Create a new page" and enter whatever name you wish in there. Finally, click Create, and finish your specifications.
- You have somehow gone the wrong way. Redo the steps I have stated. I have made them more easily readable.
